27. Assassin's Creed Origins Isolated Desert

The Isolated Desert has a fair amount of locations for its size. There are two high-leveled Phylakes running around here, which makes things a bit more interesting than the northwestern corner of the map.

Quest: Plight of the Rebels

Suggested: Lv40

Hide ads

Reward: 7500XP

A rebel woman here says that two of the children she's watching over have been taken by soldiers as they were looking for treasure. Travel to Camp Hetoimazo to the east and you'll rescue two rebels, who will tell you that they might be at Alexander's Temple to the northwest. Head over there with Khamet and look for an underwater tunnel with Senu to get to one of the children. Once you've freed him from the snakes and talk to Khamet.

Fast travel back to the rebel camp and save them from their attackers, then speak with the other rebel you saved from earlier, since he investigated the place that the girl once was. He will tell you that she's been taken to Pissa Bros Citadel, and since you're out there, you may as well kill the enemies' captain at Camp Khoikos. Istellah is hiding in a hay bale cart, so all you'll have to do for her is drive her out of there towards a camp south of the citadel.

Medon, on the other hand, has LOTS of bodyguards at high levels. You might want to wait until they're all alone before attacking them. Damage-inducing smoke bombs work wonders against them. Confirm the kill to get the shield back. If you do this after you rescue Istellah, then the quest will end here.

Location: Alexander's Temple

Location: West of the northeast viewpoint.

Objectives: Loot Treasure (x2)

One treasure is protected by some snakes in a less resilient portion of the temple. As for the other, you'll have to swim underwater to find a hidden tunnel to get to it. This one is also surrounded by snakes.

Location: Apis Stone Circle

Location: South of the lower east viewpoint.

Objectives: Align the Stars

A stone circle location. Easy and simple.

Location: Bathoslythos Ridge

Location: At the northeast corner of the region.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

There might be some animals and enemies fighting each other here. The enemies should be able to overtake the animals, so just wait things out until your opposition becomes as weak as possible.

Location: Burial Delving

Location: South of the lower east viewpoint.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

This place is just a hole in the ground with some hyenas sitting around it. The treasure you're looking for is in a tent, but you probably won't be able to sneak up to it without getting in a fight.

Location: Camp Dory

Location: Northeast of the northwest viewpoint.

Objectives: Kill Captain, Loot Treasure

The rebels here tend to get carried away and might kill the captain when you're way off somewhere else. This won't count for you, though, so if you come across this place and it's empty, use a hay bale to die by tossing a torch into it and jumping in. Everyone should respawn when you come back.

Location: Camp Hetoimazo

Location: South of the northeast viewpoint.

Objectives: Kill Captain, Loot Treasure

This is a pretty small camp. You can sneak behind everyone in broad daylight if you wanted to, or you can snipe at them from the cliffside.

Location: Camp Khoikos

Location: East of the northwest viewpoint.

Objectives: Kill Captain, Loot Treasure

Rebels will probably attack this place when you get to it, so make sure you tag the captain quickly and try to take him out first. It might be a good idea to trap the brazier too, since one soldier will certainly try to light it.

Location: Camp Tamaris

Location: Southwest of the northeast viewpoint.

Objectives: Kill Captain, Loot Treasure

This is a small camp that might be attacked by rebels on occasion. If this is the case, the rebels may have led the captain way off into the desert several hundred meters away.

Location: Camp Xeros

Location: Southwest of the lower east viewpoint, and west of the Apis Stone Circle.

Objectives: Kill Captain, Loot Treasure

Some rebels might be fighting the enemies when you arrive here. If that's the case, help them out and make sure nobody lights the brazier.

Location: Demiourgos Altar

Location: South of the lower east viewpoint.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

There's just a statue here with a treasure at the bottom. There are snakes lying around it, though.

Location: Goat Fish Stone Circle

Location: At the northwest tip of the region.

Objectives: Align the Stars

A stone circle, easy to complete.

Location: Golden Tomb

Location: South of the fast travel point for These Elpis Rift, or north of the lower east viewpoint.

Objectives: Find the Ancient Tablet

The puzzle for this tomb is different than most others. Early on into the area, you'll have to push a mirror into place to continue the beam of light deeper into the tomb. After this, be on the lookout for side paths and hidden tunnels leading to Silica and other treasures. Past this is one more mirror to push before you find the ancient tablet. To the side is another location, Out-mAa Niye Ressoot.

Location: Heat Oasis

Location: East of the northwest viewpoint.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

This is just an oasis. There might be some leopards sitting around it, but you should be able to avoid them as you get to the treasure.

Location: Hyena Lair

Location: West of the northeast viewpoint.

Objectives: Kill Animal

If you approach the lair from above, you should be able to perform a headshot on the alpha hyena and leave without having to fight the rest. The downside to this is that you won't be able to loot its soft leather, though.

Location: Kaminada Stairwell

Location: South of the southwest viewpoint.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

There's nothing here but some snakes. It won't take long for you to be done with this place.

Location: Ouahe

Location: Southeast of the northeast viewpoint.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

This place is just a little pool of water in a ridge. There shouldn't be anything here to stop you from getting the treasure tucked away near the rock wall.

Location: Oun-mAa Niye Ressoot

Location: Connected to the ancient tablet room in the Golden Tomb.

Objectives: Activate the Ancient Mechanism

Once you complete the Golden Tomb, walk into the next room and keep going until you reach a large space with strange architecture. You'll want to search the entire area for perhaps ten pieces of Silica, because you'll need to use up five of them to activate the mechanism at the back of the area. Watch the show that starts when you do so.

Location: Pissa Oros Citadel

Location: South of the northwest viewpoint.

Objectives: Kill Captain (x2), Kill Commander, Loot Treasure (x4)

A quest that's usually started in Herakleion Nome will bring you here, so start that and get far enough in the quest so you don't have to backtrack into this fort. If you can manage to sneak up on the commander, try to use a berserk poison on him to make him go nuts. Even if there aren't enemies around, the poison will eventually kill him if you wait long enough.

Location: Tomb of the Nomads

Location: In the far northwest tip of the region.

Objectives: Find the Ancient Tablet

The tablet here is underwater, and it's really easy to get to. First, take the piece of Silica in front of the man praying in the first room, then take a right to get to a pool of water. There are lots of pieces of Silica in the water, and the tablet is hidden behind a frail wooden barrier that you can break apart.

Location: Vulture Lair

Location: West of the lower east viewpoint.

Objectives: Kill Animal

An easy animal lair, since vultures are among the easiest violent animals to kill.

Location: Vulture Lair

Location: South of the northwest viewpoint.

Objectives: Kill Animal

Another easy vulture lair. There's a Ptolemy statue next to it to grant you some more XP.
