This region is a bit small in regards to locations, so you shouldn't be spending too much time in here. The lack of a northern viewpoint does make travel a bit challenging sometimes, though.
Quest: Lights Among the Dunes
Suggested: Lv40
Reward: 3000XP, Legendary Light Bow
This quest probably won't show up on your map until later in the story, and can be started in either Atef-Pehu Nome, Haueris Nome, or Faiyum Oasis. Some speakers in each of these locations talk of a strange light in the Desheret Desert. If you've been here before, then you'll understand their confusion. If not, then head down to the quest marker and towards the only two locations in the entire Desheret region.
As you approach the area, undead bodies will rise up to fight you before returning to the dust of the earth. To get to the objective, you'll need to realign mirror pillars all throughout the walls of the tomb to open a door. A man named Parh will sit injured past the marker, demanding that you find his camel that holds the artifact that he found within this tomb. Upon finding it, you'll see some pretty strange stuff, after which you'll resolve to putting the artifact back where it belongs to prevent any more of this craziness happening anymore.
Another strange thing happens when you put the object back into place. Lots of enemies will appear out of nowhere, and after collapsing, you'll wake up in a house. A woman here will explain that she found you in the desert and will then send you on your way fit as a fiddle.
Location: Cleon's Dam
Location: Near the border between Haueris Nome and Atef-Pehu Nome.
Objectives: Kill Captain, Loot Treasure
You should definitely come here at night, when the captain has a good chance of being asleep in the middle of the dam. The treasure is in the middle as well, just in a different structure.
Location: Eedoo Sekedoo Aat
Location: At the end of the Tomb of Smenkhkare.
Objectives: Activate the Ancient Mechanism
There's not much to this place. Just do a leap of faith and you'll be in the main room of the location, which is filled with Silica pieces. Take as many as you can and use five to activate the pillar at the end of the room.
Location: Etesias' Olive Grove
Location: To the southwest of the eastern viewpoint.
Objectives: Loot Treasure
The treasure is in the enemy encampment watching over the grove. You might not be able to get to it undetected, but there aren't a lot of enemies here to fight anyway.
Location: Fort Boubastos
Location: South of Cleon's Dam.
Objectives: Kill Captain (x2), Kill Commander, Loot Treasure (x4)
This place is huge, and there are lots of enemies inside. I personally didn't have much issue with sneaking up on most soldiers here, so hopefully things go just as well when you get here.
Location: Iw Forgotten Cache
Location: In the middle of a tiny, tiny island at the southern border of the region.
Objectives: Loot Treasure (x2)
This island is actually an underwater location. I'm not sure if it technically is (and therefore counting for the achievement), but it acts similar to one in that the treasures here are both underwater.
Location: Kleithra Dam
Location: On the west coast, southwest of the eastern viewpoint.
Objectives: Loot Treasure
A simple place to finish. The treasure is in a tent, and there are only about three enemies here. Waiting until nighttime ensures that you'll only have to put up with at most two of them.
Location: Limestone Quarry
Location: South of Fort Boubastos.
Objectives: Kill Captain (x2), Kill Commander, Loot Treasure (x4)
The quarry is a very large area, filled with enemies and things to do. Attacking at nighttime should make things far easier for you.
Location: Lion Lair
Location: Next to the eastern viewpoint.
Objectives: Kill Animal
A simple animal lair. The lions are grouped together inside, so fire bombs would work nicely as an opening attack.
Location: Metallon Docks
Location: On the coast, directly north of the eastern viewpoint.
Objectives: Loot Treasure
One of the buildings at the docks has a second floor, where about three enemies or so will be protecting this treasure. You can sneak by all of them very easily.
Location: Temple Archives
Location: Part of the Temple of Thoth.
Objectives: Loot Treasure (x2)
Both treasures are very loosely guarded by only a handful of enemies. They should be easier to take down at night since one of them should be asleep.
Location: Temple of Thoth
Location: West of the city of Hermopolis, which is near the southern tip of the region.
Objectives: Find the nearby hidden Papyrus
The papyrus is all the way in the back, past the Temple Archives location. The puzzle is called Toth's Secret.
Location: Tomb of Amenemhat III
Location: Near the western viewpoint.
Objectives: Find the Ancient Tablet
This tomb is real simple. Just burn out two stick barricades on the ground and drop down to a destructible seal in the wall, then destroy them to make a wall fall down. This will take you to a large room with a few crocodiles in it around a pool of water. Diving into the water will take you to the tablet and the end of the tomb.
Location: Tomb of Smenkhkare
Location: At the southern base of the mountain to the south.
Objectives: Find the Ancient Tablet
At the start of this tomb, you'll be going for a swim until you reach the tomb's puzzle room. This seems complicated, but is actually pretty simple once you understand how it works. Rocks on two of the platforms are too heavy to pick up, so the way to move ahead is instead to weigh down the counter-platform until the rock's platform is at its peak, then run up to the rock platform and jump ahead to the next part of the room. You should only have to do this twice to get to the tablet. The next location, Eeyoo Sekedoo Aat, is found through a crack in the wall.
