15. Assassin's Creed Origins Faiyum

Faiyum is a pretty big place. It'll take you a while to clear this place out, but the waters should take travel a bit easier.

Quest: Curse of Wadjet

Suggested: Lv25

Hide ads

Reward: 3750XP, Legendary Light Bow

Constant snake attacks are being blamed on a curse. Investigate the nearby area and speak to the people here to learn about a shrine to Wadjet, then head inside and look around. The whole burrow (its own location) is filled with snakes, but you should be able to ignite them all by tossing a torch just about anywhere in the room. A letter at the back of the room confirms that some people have been using the snakes to specifically attack Greeks in order to get them to leave the Faiyum. The caretaker and two other enemies will be waiting for you right outside the burrow. Kill him and make your way to the northwest to rescue the hostage being held there to put an end to all of this. Finding the hostage and taking him outside will finish the quest.

Quest: Demons in the Desert

Suggested: Lv39

Reward: 3000XP

After talking with a scared farmer about a boy fighting demons, look for the boy in a tower, who will explain the situation. Follow him into the White Desert Oasis region and get to the camp his father was taken to. Rescue the men inside and follow them out of the camp to learn that the man you're looking for isn't around. With Rahotep's father unconfirmed to be alive or dead, the group will set course to another camp, where the others you've rescued assume he's being held.

Kill the men at this second camp and take Rahotep's father to the docks to the north. Upon rendezvousing with the rest of the men, you'll finish the quest.

Quest: Feeding Faiyum

Suggested: Lv24

Reward: 3125XP

After finishing the Murder in the Temple quest, a woman nearby will ask you to help her husband. He witnesses soldiers taking a man, screaming, beneath the temple. But since the perpetrators were soldiers, he's not sure if he can trust the Phylakitai to deal with the problem, and fears his own safety as a witness. Speak to him and investigate the area underneath the temple to get a lead on a payment the soldiers are expecting from performing the deed they've done.

Upon reaching the payment, you'll find inscriptions leading you towards the city of Soknopaiou Nesos, which you can easily fast travel to if you've been there before. Four soldiers are protecting the storehouse with the payment. Past a weak door is a room containing all of the grain, and two soldiers speaking openly about The Butcher. When you find out where his office is, take the ladder to the east so you can knock out the Vault of Splendors location at the same time.

When you get closer to The Butcher's office, you'll automatically walk in and speak with him. It won't be long before things get violent. The quest ends when you confirm his death.

Quest: Fires of Dionysias

Suggested: Lv37

Reward: 4500XP, Rare Shield

Speak to the farmers who used to own the burnt-out farm. Follow her as she warns her neighbor about the attacks, as she fears he might be next. Turns out she's right. Rescue him from the fire-wielding bandits and talk to him to learn where the bandits must be hiding out. Travel to the White Desert Oasis and take out the bandit leader at the White Desert Sobek Ruins, only to find out that the actual leader was in Faiyum the whole time. Find him in the Caravanserai and assassinate him, then speak to Zahra outside the fort to finish the quest.

Quest: Forging Siwa

Suggested: Lv25

Reward: 2500XP, Legendary Sickle Sword

A man claims that a market in town is selling real Siwan goods. Find the market stall and speak to the girl running the stand, who will offer to show you to her campsite and her more expensive goods. On the way there, she'll spot her mother taken prisoner at the site. Simply cut down the bandits and free her to end the quest.

Quest: Murder in the Temple

Suggested: Lv24

Reward: 2500XP

Speak to a protector standing next to a dead body outside of the Sarapeion of Karanis, who will admit that this kind of thing is a bit out of his expertise. Investigate the scene, which will eventually lead up to the top of the room. Speak to the Phylakitai with your findings and rush over to what you believe to be the next victim and save him from an attack. After talking with him and the Phylakitai once more, you'll have ended this threat.

Quest: Rebel Strike

Suggested: Lv25

Reward: 2250XP

After helping Theodoros and his men in Saqqara Nome, this quest will appear. Join the men in an attack on the Beached Trireme Camp to the southwest until everyone there is dead. That's about it for this quest.

Quest: Sobek's Gold

Suggested: Lv27

Reward:

A priest is smacking a boy for stealing Sobek statues, even though they just sunk into the ocean as he was sailing with them. One is in the water, and the other is on one of the three ships in the water to the north. Take them back to the priest, who will threaten the boy with more punishments. Fend off the nearby soldiers protecting the priest and bring the boy back up on his feet to end the quest.

Quest: The Sickness

Suggested: Lv26

Reward:

Upon reaching a pile of burning corpses, speak to the healer as to why this has been happening. Investigate the food here and speak with the healer about it to learn about the merchant who makes it. Upon reaching his house, you'll find out that he's been intentionally making absolutely filthy food in order to take the land from the dead. Defeat him and his men to finish the quest.

Location: Abandoned Fishing Village

Location: West of the Beached Trireme Camp and south of the Vulture Lair. It's on the coast between the western viewpoint and Soknapaiou Nesos.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

This place may not appear on your map as a ? after synching with the viewpoints.

The fishing village might consist of only one enemy and a treasure chest. I never ran into anyone but one guy sitting by a fire.

Location: Bakchias

Location: Near the border of Faiyum and Saqqara Nome.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

You visit this place in a quest from Saqqara Nome called A Rebel Alliance, giving you the perfect time to kill two birds with one stone. Don't bother coming here until you start that quest.

Location: Beached Trireme Camp

Location: Southwest of Soknopaiou Nesos, on the coast.

Objectives: Kill Captain, Loot Treasure

If you start the quest Rebel Strike, you'll have several allies fight everyone here alongside you to make things a bit easier on yourself.

Location: Cleon's Wharf

Location: At the very border between Faiyum and Haueris Nome.

Objectives: Kill Captain, Loot Treasure

This is your usual enemy harbor. If you're trying to save discovering Haueris Nome for later, don't come here just yet. Trying to get to it will defog the region on your map.

Location: Covert Grain Store

Location: In the city of Soknopaiou Nesos.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

This place is basically just one building with three soldiers guarding a treasure. The roof can be burnt or shot open so you can get inside more easily, but you should wait for the distracted soldiers to realign themselves before dropping in.

Location: Dionysias Caravanserai

Location: West of Dionysias.

Objectives: Kill Captain, Kill Commander, Loot Treasure (x2)

Everyone here is in the high Lv30's. Take your time sneaking around when you get to this place, because getting caught is going to suck. If you're lucky like I was, the captain or commander might set himself on fire and die; that's probably not going to be a common occurrence, though.

Location: Dionysias Wharf

Location: At the northern tip of the land between the cities of Euhemeria and Dionysas.

Objectives: Kill Captain, Loot Treasure

This place may not appear on your map as a ? after synching with the viewpoints.

The captain in the daytime might be sitting at a table next to the treasure. If you're really high-leveled, you might be able to sneak behind him and knock him out in one hit, but if not, then he'll still be isolated enough for you to fight him without much trouble aside from himself.

Location: East Moeris Trireme

Location: Sailing in the western waters, occasionally entering the region of Faiyum Oasis.

Objectives: Kill Captain

The trireme is outfitted with soldiers around Lv30, since it's meant to be more of a Faiyum Oasis location instead of one from Faiyum. There's a cover above the ship that will should allow you to drop down on the captain if you manage to remain unseen.

Location: Eremites Hideout

Location: Near the border between Faiyum and the White Desert Oasis, to the south.

Objectives: Find a place to rest

Climb up the ruins and sit on a red cloth to get a free skill point.

Location: Euhemeria Lighthouse Camp

Location: On the coast of the city of Euhemeria.

Objectives: Kill Captain, Loot Treasure

There are about six or so enemies here, including the captain. You should be able to sneak up on at least a few of them before you have to go all-in. Waiting until nighttime might make things easier as well.

Location: Euhemeria Royal Granary

Location: In the city of Euhemeria, to the east.

Objectives: Loot Treasure (x2)

Despite its title as a royal granary, this place is very loosely guarded. You should only come across three or four soldiers here. The two treasures are in the same building.

Location: Golden Horn Island

Location: A large island in the water, clearly visible from the map.

Objectives: Loot Treasure (x3)

Two of the three chests here are actually underwater, which sounds like it'll be easy to complete the place. Hippos in the water can make things more difficult, though.

Location: Hippopotamus Lair

Location: East of the western viewpoint.

Objectives: Kill Animal

Just a standard animal lair. Hippos, as you probably already know, are pretty violent, so you might want to take on one at a time if you can. There's a treasure chest here as well.

Location: Hyena Lair

Location: South of the western viewpoint.

Objectives: Kill Animal

This lair is an abandoned dig site or some similar structure, which allows you to shoot at your prey from a higher ledge to make for easy hunting.

Location: Ketket Cove Hideout

Location: On the eastern coast.

Objectives: Kill Captain, Loot Treasure

There aren't many enemies here, so the captain might be one of two men positioned near oil jars and a fire pit during the daytime. Shooting it should make for an easy way to at least damage him a fair amount.

Location: Leopard Lair

Location: On the eastern coast.

Objectives: Kill Animal

A standard animal lair. Kill the alpha to finish the location.

Location: Okteres Blockade

Location: In the water, north of the city of Euhemeria.

Objectives: Kill Captain, Kill Commander, Loot Treasure (x2)

The blockade consists of three large ships. The two on the sides are smaller, so you should wipe those out first to make raiding the middle ship easier. You should be able to kill just about everyone on the main ship using your bow from one of the smaller ships.

Location: Pannouki Hideout

Location: Northwest of Soknopaiou Nesos.

Objectives: Kill Captain, Loot Treasure

This is a very small place that should have less than five enemies or so inside of it, but there might be an ambush directly in front of it which can be avoided by simply walking around it. If you started the quest Curse of Wadjet, you'll come here to rescue someone anyways, so you may as well start it for the XP if you're not usually doing quests.

Location: Philoteris

Location: Between the cities of Euhemeria and Dionysias.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

This is an incredibly easy treasure to take. There should only be two guards protecting the house this treasure lies in. Just run at one and do a takedown to get access to it.

Location: Pisces Stone Circle

Location: On the eastern coast.

Objectives: Align the Stars

A stone circle, easy to complete.

Location: Requisitioned Dionysias House

Location: At the city of Dionysias.

Objectives: Loot Treasure (x2)

This is just a simple house with about three or four soldiers guarding it. Kill however many it takes to gain access to it and take the loot.

Location: Sarapeion of Karanis

Location: At the eastern viewpoint.

Objectives: Find the nearby hidden Papyrus

This scroll is on the second floor of the temple; climbing a statue inside is the fastest way up to it. The puzzle is called The Leaning Tower.

Location: Sea of Sobek Anchorage

Location: In the water, east of the western viewpoint.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

The ship with the treasure can be wiped out without alerting any of the guards on the other ship, so long as you're silent about it. There are lions on the other ship, though, so if you need pelts then you'll be glad to find them here.

Location: Seized Oikos

Location: In the city of Euhemeria.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

This is an easy location. There should only be one enemy at the front door, who you can run up to and use a takedown on for easy access to the treasure.

Location: Senwosret Temple

Location: West of the city of Karanis.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

This is a standard bandit camp, aside from one thing: You might be ambushed as you approach the front of the temple. You can counter-ambush them by going around and shooting them from behind, or you can just run in and fight them like usual. There should barely be any enemies at the temple itself, however.

Location: Shi-wer Anchorage

Location: In the water, southeast of Soknopaiou Nesos and southwest of Karanis.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

A stationary ship. The crew is fairly light, but you won't be able to use captured animals to your advantage here. Being spotted from the water is dangerous due to the twin crossbows at the front of the ship.

Location: Sunken Temple of Pnepheros

Location: On the coast, east of the city of Soknopaiou Nesos.

Objectives: Loot Treasure (x3)

You should probably start the Feeding Faiyum quest before coming here to kill two birds with one stone. Aside from finding enemies here as a part of that quest, the place is a normal underwater location and can be completed within a minute or less.

Location: Sunken Trireme

Location: In the water, north of the city of Euhemeria.

Objectives: Loot Treasure (x2)

An underwater location. Easy.

Location: Taweret Stone Circle

Location: Northeast of the western viewpoint, on the coast. East of the Hippopotamus Lair.

Objectives: Align the Stars

A stone circle, easy to complete.

Location: Underground Stash

Location: West of the Sarapeion of Karanis.

Objectives: Loot Treasure (x2)

This place is real small, and you won't have to do much to complete it. There should only be about four enemies inside, and you can find the treasures behind a weak straw doorway.

Location: Valley Market

Location: In the city of Euhemeria.

Objectives: Find the nearby hidden Papyrus

This scroll is on a table. The puzzle is called The Blasphemer.

Location: Vault of Splendors

Location: In the city of Soknopaiou Nesos.

Objectives: Loot Treasure (x2)

A single room contains both treasures, and they're not very well-guarded. Should be easy to clear out.

Location: Vulture Lair

Location: On the border between Faiyum and the Black Desert.

Objectives: Kill Animal

The easiest type of animal lairs, since vultures are really stupid. If it doesn't see you when you're shooting at it, it might fly away; just wait a little bit and it'll fly back.

Location: Wadjet's Burrow

Location: In the city of Soknopaiou Nesos.

Objectives: Loot Treasure

This place is, at least during the quest Curse of Wadjet, filled with snakes. I learned that the whole place can be burnt up with a single drop of a torch.

Location: West Moeris Trieme

Location: Sailing in the western waters.

Objectives: Kill Captain

This might not always be the case, but I came here in the daytime and was able to climb up the back of the ship to reach the front from above, where I was able to pounce on the captain in his sleep.

Location: Wrecked Felucca

Location: In the water, on the border between Faiyum and Faiyum Oasis, to the south.

Objectives: Loot Treasure (x2)

An underwater location. Easy as pie.
