2. Beat Saber General hints and tips

Completing this game will take between 25 and 35 hours. However, you will probably finish all of the skill related things in about 15-25 hours.

For the story levels that have you move a MINIMUM hand distance, you can pause the game right at the end (or any time) and just move your hands around until you reach the requirement. This is good because those are the hardest and most exhausting objectives.

For the story levels with a maximum hand movement, try to move your wrists as opposed to moving your entire arm.

Score System:

You may think that just simply hitting all of the cubes without mistakes would give you an SS rank. Unfortunately, this will most likely only give you an S rank. But the good thing is that you probably won't have to worry about this until you actually do go for the SS rank, as you will probably get an S rank along with a full combo. Obviously, don't hit cubes really lightly so you get 20 points. Still hit them decently hard and try to get as much as you can.

You can get a maximum of 115 points in one block. To get the maximum points, you need to start you swing 90 degrees above the block, and continue the swing until you're 90 degrees below the block. However, it seems like the score has very little to do with the actual rank, as I got 400,000 one time and got an S rank, and then I got 384,000 another time and got the SS rank. (I didn't even get a full combo) The important thing is that you're getting that 180 degree swing almost every single time, and you will get the SS rank with enough practice.

You will have to get 100,000,000 score at the end. You add to this score when you complete levels. When you restart/fail a level, it doesn't add to your score. For this reason, it may be worth playing levels through to the end every single time even if you miss your full combo or S/SS rank. I didn't do this because I wanted to get the skill-based achievements as quick as possible. When I finished everything else, I had 38,000,000 out of my hundred million. (38% of the way) Either way you want to do it is up to you.

The level I recommend that you play over and over is "Into the Dream" which is the first one on the 4th page in free play. It's the easiest and quickest one on the 4th page. Once you get used to this level, you can turn on the Disappearing Notes and Faster Level (and potentially even Fastest Level if you can handle it) modifiers. If you play it reasonably well, (you can miss as much as you need to though as long as you finish the level) you will get about 500-700 thousand every time you finish it, with the level taking about 3-6 minutes depending on your speed modifiers. You should use at least the Disappearing Notes and Faster Level modifiers because they'll give you 115% of your original score. So that means it's a 15% bonus, and it also helps get the level over faster.

The good thing about this game is that you can play through the whole campaign without needing to look at the walkthrough once I get you started. This is good because it's a pain to look down at a walkthrough every 5 seconds in a VR game.

Let's get started on the walkthrough!
