One of the players first need to select the challenge for it to count.

You can mark someone by aiming at an enemy and pressing SPACE. A skull should appear over their head. The other player has to kill the marked enemy for it to count towards the challenge. The skull will disappear after 5-10 seconds so you need to be somewhat quick.
