There's really no secret trick to getting this achievement; you just need to get good enough at the game to do it.
One thing worth remembering is that the screen loops horizontally, and that being up away from the top of the static blocks during the avalanche gives you more time to avoid being crushed.
However, the truth is that getting to the top is pretty madcap regardless. Your best bet may be to start out with all three companions via the hyper badge, and layer on the repel badge to reduce the rate of enemy spawns, along with a third badge of your choice.
