More Prey Content Teased

By Rebecca Smith,
The ending of Arkane Studio's Prey left many players speculating over what could happen next. Discussions have been ongoing since the game's release ten months ago. Recently those discussions have taken a different turn. Over on Reddit, an account known as KasmaCorp has been posting some strange replies on some of the threads, most of which were in binary code. In turn, these lead on to a Twitter account that has been posting teasers of potential content to come for the game. So what is being teased?

First noticed by Redditor SHAPE_IN_THE_GLASS, the first binary code message was left on a Reddit thread about the base of the moon. When translated, the message read "The moon is a harsh mistress". A second message on another thread simply read: "LGV port 23.1.8:1576 ready". The third message, again in binary, read "LLO 51.61°, 24Km, 165km, 113.65 minutes @KasmaCorp". Speculation on Reddit is rife about the meaning of the majority of the messages, but what is certain is that @KasmaCorp is a twitter account that's fuelling the speculation. Usually this wouldn't be of note, but the Twitter account is linked to a Bethesda e-mail address, as well as being followed by several Bethesda employees.

Kasma won't be a name familiar to many unless you paid close attention to the TranScribe recordings dotted around the ship. How Kasma fits into the Prey story is in the spoiler below.

Since registering on Twitter just a few days ago, @KasmaCorp has released three images. The first shows an attempt to harvest a mimic. The second is mimic related but a little more cryptic, while the third just has me stumped. We've tried to clean them up a bit for you below, but make of them what you will:

Since the original discovery, more messages have been posted on Reddit:
  • Relayfromm13saysthey'veinterceptedourmessages.Heatis comingyourway.Getout.
  • I know you are looking forward to
  • seeing family again and a set back at this point would be
  • unfortunate
Finally, just to further add to the conspiracy, the official Prey Twitter account also posted its own little teaser:

It now seems highly likely that players will see more of Prey in the future, but whether this is in the form of DLC, a standalone expansion, or even a true sequel is anybody's guess. The publisher has confirmed that we'll be seeing them at E3 again with another stage presentation on Sunday, June 10th at 6:30 pm PT, so we might have to wait until then to see what they have in store for the franchise.
