Friend Import - Updated

By Jack Watling,
UPDATE:

You can now invite friends that aren't on the site by clicking the invite button, typing in their email address and pressing Enter - if they sign up via the link you'll get a referral badge!

Original Story

With the huge number of friends you can have on Steam, we felt it was a bit of a chore to keep up with which of your friends are on site and which aren't, and even more of a chore to easily add them.

So, after a bit of elbow grease we've added a new Import Friends page to your TSA friend managing arsenal!

Simply visit the page and hit the "Import Steam friends" button. We'll then go and grab your current Steam friends and display them all in one big list.

The add column to the right of the list allows you to easily send out multiple friend requests in one go. Just check each box you want to, then press the "Send friend requests" button at the bottom of the page.

If there's an icon displayed in the add column instead then you're either already friends, you've already sent a friend request, or you've received a friend request from the gamer (hover over the icons if you're unsure). If it's the latter then you can click icon to jump straight to the handle invite page.

Finding your friends in the list can still be tricky if you're popular, like us wink, so we've even added a quick "Search gamertag,.." filter at the top of the page to help pinpoint specific people. Start typing there and it'll hide anyone from the list that doesn't match your entry.

The page is live now and can be accessed here. Let us know what you think of the feature below, and if you spot anything quirky with it feel free to create a report in the Bug Reports Forum.

Thanks! toast
