4. Just Cause 2 75% Completion Playthrough

After your Hardcore run, you should be pleased to hear that you'll be able to get all of the other achievements on the easiest difficulty setting on another save. The one downside is that it's a completely new save, but that isn't a big deal, because you'll very quickly surpass your Hardcore save in terms of completion percentage. With most of the information you need to get 75% completion on other pages, this one will serve as a quick rundown of what you need to do to get there, as well as get all of the remaining achievements.

Story Missions & Faction Missions

Story missions give you a fairly large chunk of percentage in total, so you'll want to finish all seven of them again. Since there's no longer a rush to finish the game, you can do these at any time, assuming you've unlocked them through the Chaos requirement. Stronghold takeovers and faction missions are, as stated before, necessary to complete so that you can earn the following achievements:

Ignoring these as you climb to 75% would be a bad move, because you wouldn't want to be completing more locations than you have to. All that you'd ever need to know about these missions can be found on their respective page in the walkthrough. Make sure you also hijack the other two cars that Jade Tan isn't in for the fourth story mission; these two are MV Commands and are extremely hard to find otherwise. The only other place to find it is during the Ular Boys mission Taking Care of the Dishes, unless you want to raise your heat to max level in the desert and wait for one to arrive. For every faction and story mission, always take the vehicle they give you to start the mission off, because doing so will knock a bunch of vehicles off your list.

Challenges

Just Cause 2 | Challenges

There are also challenges that unlock just like faction missions, but are simply races in land, air, and sea vehicles, as well as a few grappling and parachute races tossed in to create a grand total of 75 challenges overall. You'll want to finish at least 50 of them, but finishing more of these will raise your percentage faster than finishing locations will, so it'd be in your best interest to tackle as many challenges as you can that you think you can handle. Each challenge that involves a vehicle will provide you with a red one, so look out for it when you start each challenge. You can also call in a black market vehicle to use instead of the default one the game gives you, but I suggest only calling in vehicles if your default vehicle gets destroyed in an area where you can't hijack someone else's. That way you can add the challenges' default vehicles to your list.

Locations & Sabotage

You should already know by now that there are hundreds of locations, big and small, across Panau that need some fixing up. A location's completion percentage is composed of the existing Chaos structures in the area, resource items, and any colonels on duty. Chaos structures most often have a red-and-white color scheme and have a star on them, but some, like pipelines and statues, will not. The structures without the signature colors and star will still be easy for you to spot due to how much they stand out. To find resource items, there's a small radar next to your minimap that responds when you get closer and farther to an item, which greatly helps with completing areas quickly. Colonels' general locations can be found in the menus through the map screen, which makes the hunt for them a lot easier.

I suggest running around to get the resource items, and then blow everything up so you won't have to zoom around on the ground to find them while dealing with the enemy. It should also be obvious that, although rich in everything, the city locations to the west are way too big to worry about getting 100% on, so don't bother with finishing them completely.

Make sure you DON'T complete military bases until you're sure that you've driven all of the unique vehicles at that base. Unlike any other type of location, completing a military base will cause all enemies and their vehicles to stop spawning.

Collectibles

There are several types of collectibles throughout Panau for you to collect, all of which will count towards your completion. Resource items, as mentioned in the previous section, are necessary for you to obtain in order to reach 100% completion at a location on the map. There are four types of resource items that are usually scattered throughout locations. Vehicle parts and weapon parts can be spent on black market items to increase their potential, which will make missions and completing locations that much easier. Armor parts will increase your maximum health, and are much more important when you're playing your Hardcore run, but are still useful on your completion playthrough. The last type of resource item is just a bunch of money, and will reward you with a nice lump of cash.

The second type of collectible is the faction item, of which there are three for each gang. All act the same way, granting you Chaos and money upon finding one, but their looks and general location vary. Faction items can be seen as big blue dots on the map and minimap, and each gang has their own item that they would appreciate being returned to them. There are 100 faction items per gang, meaning that there are 300 in total, so for the achievement you'll need to collect at least half of them. Collecting more is also advisable, since doing so will increase your overall completion percentage.

End Goals

As you near 75% completion, you should be done with all of the above achievements and have finished the story one more time, but as you do so, don't forget to knock out any of the miscellaneous achievements that you haven't done yet that relate to enemies. Completing normal locations won't cause enemies to despawn, so you're safe for the enemy achievements, but more complex achievements will require more work and can be found on the Misc Achievements page. The complex ones can be done after you reach 75% completion, if you so choose. As you finish more and more of the game, you'll finally get the two most time-consuming achievements in the game.
