RIDE 3 Takes a Spin Around Lake Garda

By Rebecca Smith,
Located near Lake Garda, the Strada della Forra is considered to be one of the most scenic roads in Italy. Winston Churchill referred to it as the eighth wonder of the world, and it has been used as a location for many films and vehicle adverts, including James Bond's high-speed chase in Quantum of Solace. Many bikers are also drawn to its location, so it only seemed fitting that Milestone has chosen to include the road in their latest upcoming racer RIDE 3.

For many bikers, the road offers freedom, beautiful scenery, speed, and an adrenaline rush, and Milestone wanted to make sure they captured all of that for their game. As such, they used aerial photogrammetry and drone-scanning to capture all of the data they needed to recreate the most renowned "hot spots" of the road as accurately as they could. The team's artists then created the rest of the track themselves, allowing for a mix of realism and fantasy that keeps the feeling of the real road while allowing a racing experience more befitting of the game. The latest trailer for the game shows exactly how the team achieved this.

Strada della Forra and more will be coming to RIDE 3 on November 8th.
