DC Universe Online Teen Titans: Judas Contract Arrives Next Week

By Rebecca Smith,
Next week, new content will arrive for Daybreak Games' superhero MMORPG DC Universe Online. The new episode, "Teen Titans: Judas Contract", sees the Teen Titans return to their home base of Titan's Tower. In addition, there will be a new Augments system that will eventually replace the Research & Development system of upgrading characters. Both of these features were shown off in the latest developer stream for the game.

Teen Titans: Judas Contract

"Teen Titans: Judas Contract" sees the team upgrading Titan's Tower. They've just lost Cyborg, who made the decision to join the Justice League, so the Titans are recruiting and that's where players come in. Not only will heroes be able to apply, but villains will be tasked with infiltrating the Teen Titans on behalf of the Fearsome Five. Do well enough in training and you'll be able to join. Once players arrive, it's clear something is wrong with strange events occurring and Titans disappearing. After exploring Titan's Island and Titan's Tower, players will eventually find themselves in the secret base of operations belonging to "a certain someone".

The roster will include some of the newer Titans, although it will remain focused on Terra and "her tragic fall". Some of the heroes and villains players will meet are Nightwing, Raven, Damian Wayne, Red Robin, and Jericho. The large-scale episode will only be available for a limited amount of time and will include single player and multiplayer content. Completing the content will give players new rewards, such as new gear, styles, base items, and feats.

Augments

Originally set to arrive in August, Augments will be arriving earlier than planned. A new breakthrough is about to be made and leading scientists and engineers believe this will make the current equipment mods obsolete. As a way of modifying the body rather than gear, Augments rank up like Artifacts and provide the player with new bonuses and stats.

The Augments system is designed to "supplant and replace" the current Research & Development system. The legacy Research & Development items will be transitioned into the new Augments system, but how this is done will depend on the item in question.

Both features were on show in the last development stream, which you can see in its entirety below.

"Teen Titans: Judas Contract" and Augments will arrive on July 18th.
