Tame the Tek Rex in ARK: Survival Evolved's ARKaeology Event

By Rebecca Smith,
In many regions around the world, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will be released in cinemas this week. While the inevitable accompanying game Jurassic World Evolution has already been released with it, Studio Wildcard has decided to celebrate the film's release in their own way with a limited-time ARKaeology event for ARK: Survival Evolved.

ARKaeology

During the event, players are encouraged to search for fossil mounds in the multiple ARKs. Once found, dinosaur bones can be scavenged from the mounds and used in a cooking pot to create a series of special skins. As well as the Skeleton Dinos skins from previous events, the following skins will be available:
  • Dilophosaurus Mask (Hat Skin)
  • Brachiosaurus (Brontosaurus Costume)
  • Stygimoloch (Pachycephalosaurus Costume)
  • Styracosaurus (Triceratops Costume)

There will also be a new sci-fi themed battle beast, the Tek Rex, available for players to tame and breed. The creature is a specially armoured T-Rex that can reach a higher level than the standard T-Rex. You can see the creature and some of the other limited-time content in the trailer below.

The ARKaeology event is running now and ends on July 15th, giving you plenty of time to scavenge those skins and get yourself a new technologically advanced beast.
