Trove Looks at the Mysteries of the Deep

By Rebecca Smith,
Revealed last month, Geode will be the newest expansion for Trion Worlds' MMO Trove. In the latest developer stream, four members of the development team take a look at "spelunking and the tools that make Geode stand apart from Trove".

Geode

Geode is a newly discovered world, full of rich resources. The problem is this has attracted the forces of Q‘bthulhu’s shadow army and they're laying siege to the planet. Formerly a pristine environment, the alien world has been transformed into a deadly wasteland. Despite the harsh reality of the landscape, its citizens are peace-loving, so you'll need to carry out your activities in a non-violent way if you're to appease them. You'll be able to craft and upgrade the planet's new technology to protect you from the elements as you explore, gathering resources in preparation for taking on Q‘bthulhu’s army. Take a look at the stream below to see the expansion in action.

As well as the new environment, players will also be able to experience the game's take on a battle royale mode. While details were scarce, Trove Bomber Royale mode promises to be a "very Trovey take on the battle royale genre". You'll be able to experience it for yourself when Geode is released on June 26th, unless you want to help the team test the upcoming expansion, in which case you can log onto the Public Test Server that's available right now.
