My Name is Mayo is the compelling, true story of a jar of mayonnaise. Throughout the game, you will ascend a journey of epic proportions in which you will... ah, screw it. My Name is Mayo is a clicker game, where you click repeatedly on one of the most beloved condiments of all time to unlock achievements. The more achievements you unlock, the more outfits your mayo will dress up in, and the further you unveil its "story".

The game started out fun enough. Tap the jar multiple times, earn an achievement that conveys more of the simple story, select the new achievement from your drop down list to see the jar dress up in funny outfits, unlock random facts; rinse and repeat. I actually enjoyed the novelty of the game, up until I finished all of the main goals and was left with the daunting task of clicking the stupid jar 10,000 times. As you can imagine, the game gets boring quickly; especially when coupled with the repetitive music and irritating tapping noise that are present.

Yes, I legitimately clicked a virtual jar of mayonnaise 10,000 times. Now my finger hurts, I'm pretty sure I developed tendonitis, and I depleted my $80 Razer Deathadder Chroma of a portion of its life. Honestly, I thought the game was rather fun up until the end. I was going to recommend My Name is Mayo up until the game ran itself into the ground after the developer lost all creative genius, what little there is within this title anyhow, by leaving a massive gap of 5k clicks. You'll finish the main portion of the game within about 20 minutes, after roughly 5,000 clicks. This leaves you with absolutely nothing else to do for another 20 minutes; with an additional 5,000 clicks to go if you're wanting to nail all of the achievements.

Sure, for a buck it isn't bad, and you can't expect much. Without the additional 8k and 10k clicking achievements, I feel like this game would be one of the more fun ones for a dollar. If you're not interested in achievements, or completion, you'll probably find it less grueling. Give it a try or pass it up, doesn't matter... it's only a buck.

From Green Lava Studios comes My Name is Mayo, a clicker game with a difference. Only costing £0.79 on Steam, I decided to give this a try, knowing that there was a story behind the whole thing.

There isn’t much behind this game other than the constant clicking of a mayonnaise jar, and it didn’t seem that promising. However, Green Lava Studios have gone beyond with numerous stories, unlocked by continuing to click on the mayonnaise jar. The stories themselves are absolutely hilarious, and the skins you unlock on the mayonnaise jar by progressing through the story and hysterical; I fell off my chair laughing at one point.

Highly repetitive, but with under an hour competition time, and enough entertainment to keep you chuckling, this is a good spend of 79 pence. I really don’t regret buying this game, and I’ll definitely be playing it more than once.
