Waking up on a spaceship, you realize that you are in a death trap. Infected with the “Dead Effect” virus, the ship has become a place where it’s every man for himself. You will have to develop your skills, acquire powerful weapons and armor to resist enemies and survive.

But be careful, because among those whom you considered your allies, there may be traitors who are ready to stab you in the back for their own benefit.

    Liked:

    Availability of achievements

    Trading cards

    Gamepad support

Localization into several languages, including Russian

Availability of bonus content in the game folder - Soundtrack, collectible art book and game “map”

Supports co-op play for up to 3 people

Voice and text chat support for team coordination

    PVP battle mode

Several unique characters with their own set of abilities and skills

An abundance of notes revealing the ENT of the game

Variety of enemies and “unique” monsters

    Boss Battles

Logical tasks, as well as dexterity/speed tasks - for interacting with environmental objects

Possibility of improving both character and skills, and weapons/armor

Additional game modes available for both single player and cooperative play

    Did not like:

    Port from mobile devices

Ability to see a number of locations through walls/lamps

Characters are able to pass through some environmental objects and decorative corpses of opponents

When playing in co-op/PvP/Individual missions mode - the game activates the developer console when you press the tab key, overlapping the statistics window

Lack of online servers for co-op or PvP modes

    Lack of online players

Ability to look into neighboring locations using a sight - to view through textures

Re-creation of the character in a number of cut scenes, due to which, at the beginning of the gameplay, the character model “falls” from the ceiling of the room

    Weak enemy AI

Lack of screen resolution selection directly in the game

Spitter Zombies are able to attack across the entire map - regardless of the distance to the character

Simultaneous issuance of achievements at the end of the level

The presence of “special” weapons for Psionics, which is available for purchase only with the “Cyber Mages” add-on - without the presence of the add-on itself

Availability of skills to improve the character’s abilities from the “Cyber Mages” add-on - without purchasing the add-on itself. Not available for purchase.

Inconvenient interaction windows with the upgrade/weapon/item/armor store

    Jerky animations of some characters

After defeating the Security Golem, the boss's corpse appears at the starting point of the monster's spawn, and not at the point where the player killed the enemy

When playing in directx 9.0 mode, and then launching the game in OpenGL mode, the game will reset the screen settings to 1680x1050 or 1368x768. Attempts to change the screen resolution through the launcher will not yield results, since the resolution will only change for the OpenGL version of the game

A visual bug in which, in cutscenes for defeating Bosses, players can observe two models of monsters at the same time. One is a scripted cut-scene, the second is a player killed

Inability to complete story mode without purchasing the “Escape from Meridian” add-on

    Conclusion:

“Dead Effect 2” is an exciting mobile first-person shooter with RPG and science fiction elements, developed and ported to PC by BadFly Interactive. In this game you have to explore a spaceship infected with an ominous virus that turns the crew into zombies.

In “Dead Effect 2” you can choose one of three playable characters, each of which has unique skills and abilities. You have to complete various missions, explore locations, fight zombies and other dangers, and improve your equipment and character characteristics.

Dead Effect 2 offers players the opportunity to play either alone or in co-op with friends. Completing missions together and fighting with opponents as a team brings even more fun and opens up opportunities for tactical maneuvers.

Apart from the main story, the game has additional modes such as Survival and Arena, where you can fight waves of enemies and test your skills and endurance. These modes add variety and a dose of challenge for experienced players who want to complete additional challenges to obtain more powerful and unique weapons and equipment.

It is worth noting that the standard version of the game does not have the final third part. Therefore, those who have not purchased the Escape from Meridian add-on will not know how the story of the new heroes ends. This approach seems strange, given that the expansion is almost the same price as the game itself and rarely receives discounts during seasonal or holiday sales.

In addition, the game has an achievement and reward system that motivates players and adds replay value. Also worth noting is the system of improvements and modifications, which allows you to improve your character's weapons, armor and abilities, making him more effective in the fight against zombies and other threats on the ship. You can create a unique playstyle, optimized for your preferences and tactics.

Dead Effect 2 also features interesting bosses and powerful enemies that will test your skills and strategic thinking. Boss battles promise to be epic and intense, requiring maximum concentration and the ability to make quick decisions from you. However, the full potential of the gameplay is revealed only on the Hell difficulty level, since when porting the game, BadFly Interactive did not pay attention to optimizing the balance and behavior of opponents. Because of this, at low and medium difficulty settings the game becomes a boring “clicker shooting gallery”, where even the most dangerous opponents die from a light breeze.

The graphics in the game are made at a high level, the atmosphere of horror and tension is conveyed very realistically. The soundtrack also adds atmosphere and depth to the game.

Overall, "Dead Effect 2" is a quality port and an exciting game that immerses the player in a tense and atmospheric space horror setting. With exciting gameplay, a variety of features and excellent graphics, this game is an excellent choice for casual fans of the shooter and sci-fi genre.
