This game had a lot of hype around it when it got released and I totally understand why! what an awesome game. Who would think about combining a rogue-lite with a management kinda game? Loop Hero , another awesome game from Devolver had a bit of city building kinda stuff on the side, but it wasn't as well integrated as the management aspect is in this one.

Here you have to run a cult, decided on different subjects your standpoint, and make your followers happy, while still not breaking their trust in the religion. I decided to go for them being happy when I sacrificed somebody, but that had as a downside that they would freak out when another member died of old age, which was kinda stressful at some times when my sacrifice and ascend here on cooldown and somebody got the status "old". Another of my decisions was to get a ritual where everybody can eat, which made feeding my cult easier, but later on when doing longer dungeon runs and being away for a few days that they would have so much hunger.. while the other option was to let them not get hungry for 3 days, not sure I choose the right one for my playstyle there.

It is great how much influence you have on how to run your cult. I also enjoyed the rogue-lite part a lot, getting ingredients from the dungeon, and beating bosses. There were also quite a lot sidequests, some in plain side, some others more hidden. Overal I just had so much fun and couldn't stop playing.

Don't think this is a cute game btw... because it really is not. The art style might look cute but man you can be cruel. I'm glad they went with this playstyle, I think it would go too dark otherwise. I would also recommend reading the dishes you can make, and not just making them without reading... I almost got a game over screen because I killed all my members by accident, aka not reading that I gave them poison.

Many of the achievements are very straightforward and nothing to worry about. There is one missable achievement around Rattau and playing Knucklebones against him. If you do that just as soon as you can and win, then there are no other achievements you can miss out on. You can play Knucklebones quite early in the game, so if you did miss it, you can easily start a new game.

The hardest achievements for me were defeating the 4 bosses without getting hit. You can redo those fights but especially the last one gave me a hard time. This was very frustrating because on my first fight against that boss, I got hit in the last 5 seconds of the battle, otherwise, I would have gotten it already without really trying. I would recommend waiting with those 4 for later on as you'll get things that make it a bit easier. I used this YouTube video to get a better idea of how to accomplish this. The only reason I say above that completing this game is a 5/10 is because of those 4 achievements. Otherwise, it would be more like a 2 or 3 out of 10.
